Prof. Dr. Abdul Kader Martini, a former president of the German Society for Surgery of the Hand, born 1942, studied medicine and became a specialist in orthopedics in 1972 at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. He headed the Department of Hand and Microsurgery of the Orthopedic Clinic at University Hospital Heidelberg, Germany. In 1993 he was awarded the Professorship. In 1994 he awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in recognition of his work.
